When you live in a big city - or in a medium city as it is our case at Poppy Biarritz - it is sometimes quite hard to find little corners of nature. It is especially true if you were brought up in the countryside and sometimes misses that fresh hay-filled breeze.
While looking for new and out of the ordinary places to do our next photoshoots, we came across the Domaine d’Abbadia, in Hendaye - at the end of the French Basque Country’s longest beach! While not-so secret for locals, it is a huge park tucked away from the city. It surrounds a marvellous 19th century castle that served as an observatory to study the stars and the planets. Hidden between the tall trees, we found a beautiful view over the Baie de Loya, a stunning natural bay. Yet, it is unfortunately no longer accessible due to recent landslides - but still beautiful to look at from afar! While on our walk, our path even crossed some ponies and sheep! Yet, what took our breath away was the spectacular view over the Atlantic Ocean and the city of Hendaye. It made us forget that we were only a little 10-minutes drive away from home!
Just like us, head outside! Here are some of our favourite ways to enjoy a moment in the outdoors:
